The 2012 Fiesta’s standard engine is a feisty four-cylinder engine that cranks out 120 horsepower from 1.7 liters. While standard transmission is a five-speed manual, this compact does offer a sporty six-speed “double clutch” automatic option, with speedy gear changes. The Fiesta’s 0-60 time is 9.5 seconds, and despite its performance, it still achieves an estimated 29 mpg in the city and up to 40 mpg on the highway (depending on the trim line).

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), the 2012 Fiesta has a rating of “Good” in terms of front- and side-impact testing. Additionally, it has a below-average stopping distance of 119 feet from 60 mph, which exceeds the average for this class of car. Other safety features include stability control, traction control, and complete airbag and antilock break packages. But the Ford Fiesta also offers plenty of options for customization and extras, such as heated seats, leather upholstery, keyless entry and ignition, and premium sound. One of our favorite options is the Super Fuel Economy (SFE) package, which tweaks the body, tires, and undercarriage to achieve an estimated 40 mpg.
